US state privacy notice

The English text is the authoritative version of this page, because it addresses residents of US states under US law. The German text is a reference translation.

Last updated: 26.07.2026

This notice supplements our privacy notice for residents of US states with comprehensive privacy laws, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia and Texas.

We do not sell your personal information

We do not sell personal information and we have not sold any in the preceding twelve months. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we have not in the preceding twelve months.

This is not a technicality. There are no advertising pixels on this site, no analytics software is running, and no third party is given your information for its own purposes. There is, at present, nothing to opt out of.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, and we do not sell or share the personal information of minors.

What we collect and why

Identifiers you give us: your name and email address, and optionally your company, telephone number and message, when you use the contact form or ask for the worked example. We use these to reply to you and to send what you asked for.

Internet activity: technical log data produced when your browser requests a page, used to serve the site and defend it against attacks.

Marketing communications: if, and only if, you tick the separate newsletter box, we use your email address to send occasional notes. That box is never pre-ticked and is never a condition of receiving anything else.

We do not collect sensitive personal information, we do not profile you, and we make no automated decisions about you.

Your rights

Depending on your state, you have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to obtain a copy of it, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising and profiling. You have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of them.

To exercise a right, write to hello@f-shift.com with the words "Privacy request" in the subject line. We respond within 45 days and will tell you if we need longer. We verify requests by replying to the email address on file; if you are an authorised agent, say so and we will ask for proof of authority.

If we decline a request you may appeal by replying to our decision. We will respond to an appeal within 60 days. Residents of some states may also complain to their state Attorney General.

Global Privacy Control

We honour the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends it, we treat it as an opt-out and it takes precedence over the regional default we would otherwise apply, without you having to click anything.

Where your information goes

We are based in Germany, so information you send us is processed in Europe. The lead database is located in Western Europe. Our email delivery provider and our customer relationship system are US companies.

Our service providers act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes.

Retention

We keep enquiries for as long as needed to deal with them, and afterwards for the periods German commercial and tax law requires. Newsletter consent is kept until you withdraw it, together with the record of when it was given, because we have to be able to show it was.

Launch notice

Sign up to be notified when we go live.

One email on the day the site opens. Nothing before it, and nothing after it unless you ask for it.

More is coming before launch, including the full worked example and the ways to work together. None of it is ready to show yet.

Your details are stored in Western Europe and are used to send the launch notice. Nothing else. Details in the privacy notice.
